We are a founding member of EnglishUK (previously known as ARELS) and have been continuously certified ever since the very first inspection scheme started in 1957. We are regularly inspected by the British Council and by the Independent Schools Inspectorate. We are also members of Quality English and IALC – both of them international organisations which guarantee quality and standards.

Accreditations

The London School of English is accredited by the British Council for the teaching of English as a foreign language. To earn accreditation, the school follow strict regulations relating to school buildings and facilities, teacher qualifications, teaching quality, administration and welfare. We are regularly visited by their inspectors.

Our most recent inspection was June 2024 where we achieved a full set of strengths (14 strengths for the 14 areas in which we were inspected).

After our most recent inspection the British Council summarised their report as follows:

The British Council inspected and accredited the London School of English in June and July 2024. The Accreditation
Scheme assesses the standards of management, resources and premises, teaching, welfare, and safeguarding
under 18s and accredits organisations which meet the overall standard in each area inspected (see
www.britishcouncil.org/educati... for details).

This private language school offers courses in general, academic and professional English for adults (18+) and for
closed groups of adults (18+) in school premises and online.

Strengths were noted in the area of strategic and quality management, staff management, student administration,
publicity, premises and facilities, learning resources, academic staff profile, academic management, course design,
learner management, teaching, care of students, accommodation, leisure opportunities and safeguarding Under 18s.
